August 14: Kantha (Slow Stitch) With Teri Mayo
Teri Mayo is a passionate creative artist of all things stitching. Her first encounter with Kantha stitching was in 2022 when she took an online class to make a quilt. She hasn’t looked back since. She describes slow stitching as a mindful practice of allowing her creativity to express it self. She is also passionate about sharing her creations with anyone interested in learning.
THIS IS THE LAST SCHEDULED WORKSHOP OF THE YEAR…DON’T MISS OUT!
August 15: Workshop - Kantha (Slow Stitch). Cost for members $20.00 9:00AM - 3:00PM
September 11: Our Annual Auction
Dust off your treasures and bring your generosity! This is the event where forgotten fabric finds new purpose, and notions you no longer need become someone else’s inspiration. Our annual auction is always a lively, laughter-filled affair, with spirited bidding and plenty of surprises. Whether your looking to lighten your stash or discover that perfect piece, this is your chance to participate in a guild tradition that supports creativity and community!
This is an exciting event open to EVERYONE! Bring your friends! Bring your wallet! Bring your friends wallet!
we take cash and credit cards (checks from members only).
The benefit is twofold: not only can you buy quilting bargains of all types, but you can also use this as a chance to
donate things from your own sewing studios in which you have lost interest. Win-win! If you haven’t attend-
ed a guild auction before, you won’t want to miss this. Even if you have, don’t miss it! Our own Harriet Par-
ker and her auctioneer team are a scream! Their enthusiasm is contagious.
GO THROUGH YOUR SEWING ROOM NOW AND DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO DONATE
TO NEW, LOVING HOMES!
The items that sell best and fastest are those that follow a theme or are related, and those that are nicely pack-
aged. Some examples: store-bought or home-made (in other words, you put it together) quilt kits, themed fab-
rics (holiday, flannels, reproductions, batiks, etc), quilt book collections, pattern sets, notions sets, sometimes
even partially completed projects will sell! Package your donation in a pretty basket from the dollar store or a
big gift bag, and maybe even tie some ribbons on. Random fabric lengths are ok too, but perhaps pair that
yardage with a pattern or book. Our auctioneers will put together groupings from what comes in that day, but
you can help speed that up by starting off with a theme and some pretty packaging. Please arrive as early as you can, Ethyl Eyerly opens at 9:00AM, so the auctioneers can start working on your donations!
